Tammy and I made a quick trip over to Alabama to visit Cheaha Mountain. It was an easy hour and a half drive from Atlanta. The highpoint has an interesting tower, but we found the rock formations behind the tower even more interesting. We were pleasantly surprised at the restaurant that is near the highpoint. The food was very good and very reasonably priced. It features large windows facing the view. On the particular day that we visited, the rangers were doing controlled burning down below. The smoke eventually covered the entire mountain, but until then the forest fires below were visible. |
| Very few people were around this time of year. Perhaps we'll return and camp here sometime... |  |
