Arkansas Highpoint - Magazine Mountain (Signal Hill)

Tammy and I got a late start from the Louisiana highpoint and made an unsuccessful side trip to see the Bonnie and Clyde marker in that area. We were running late when we decided to go for the Arkansas highpoint. It was hard to tell exactly when the sun set because of the fog and massive rain storms. Nevertheless, we found the campground entrance (which was closed) and turned around to see the trailhead. Against our better judgement, we tromped into the woods at night in sub 40 degree rain to bag this highpoint (our second in total darkness after South Carolina). Fortunately, we made it to the highpoint and back without any difficulties. The trail was blazed in white which shows up pretty well at night. The highpoint seems to be nice - a wooded summit with some benches. Maybe we can return someday in better weather. I would like to camp near the highpoint next time.
