Mt. Mansfield is easily accessible from the Stowe, Vermont ski area. You have several options to get here. I took the shortest (but not easiest) path: the Gondola then the Cliff Trail. Some guide books say don't do the Cliff Trail if you are afraid of heights, but that was not the case (much less so than Katahdin a couple days earlier). Several groups turned around on the trail, but they had children or pets.
